    The first step to injury prevention is a full evaluation of a future athlete before their training starts. We will discuss what needs to be assessed as well as the risk factors and owner education that is involved at this evaluation.

  • 22 September – Fitness Plans for Injury Prevention:

    We will discuss general fitness plans and conditioning, as well as sports specific exercises that can be performed to ensure optimal function, soundness and strength to reduce the risks of injury.

Caudal Cruciate Ligament Injuries in the Canine: An Update

Is the diagnosis of caudal cruciate ligament injuries increasing? Are we truly seeing more cases of this condition or have diagnostic modalities improved to help us identify what has long been a problem? Are dogs with certain tasks such as canine athletes at a higher risk factor? This presentation will look at the current state of caudal cruciate ligament injuries, how to best diagnose it, and how to best manage it. The goal is for the attendee to recognize caudal cruciate injuries as part of the working differential in canine patients with a hind limb lameness and stifle effusion.
